Fiber Technician – Orange County REMC, Orleans, IN Orange County REMC in Orleans, Indiana is now accepting applications for the position of Fiber Technician primarily working in the Orange, Lawrence, Martin, Washington, Dubois, and Crawford County area and occasionally assisting in other counties as needed. The technician is responsible for maintenance and installation of internet products and services. This individual will be responsible for routing structured cabling to and from mounting points on the outside of residential and commercial buildings. Candidates should be able to confidently drill into these types of structures to mount equipment and deliver quality customer service. Driving to and from service calls and appointments will be required. This is a physically demanding position as installation requires lifting of equipment and gear both at ground level and at height. Expect to use crawl spaces and attics to route cabling in residential and commercial buildings daily. The technician reports to the Operations Manager. This is a full-time position with on-the-job training. Preferred candidates will possess the qualifications listed below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience •High School diploma or GED required. •2+ years of telecom/broadband utility distribution. Personal & Position Qualifications •Must have general knowledge of building construction principles. •Splicing, networking, and basic wi-fi knowledge is expected. •Must be physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and walk on various terrain. •Must be physically able to sit or ride in a vehicle for extended periods to multiple service areas. •Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 25 pounds and utilize color perception. •Must have the ability to focus on accuracy and attention to detail. •Must be capable of meeting deadlines. •Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, members, and others. •Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. •Must have and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license. •Ability to work overtime, and on a rotating on-call basis after hours and on weekends.
Fiber Member Service Representative – Orange County Fiber, Jasper, IN Orange County Fiber in Jasper, Indiana is now accepting applications for the position of Member Service Representative primarily working in the Dubois County area and occasionally assisting in other counties as needed. The Member Service Representative is heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the Cooperative. The position requires cooperation and coordination with most all departments of Orange County REMC and Orange County Fiber, as well as the Senior Staff team. This professional will report to the Office Manager. This is a full-time position with on-the-job training and a full benefits package. Preferred candidates will possess the minimum qualifications listed below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •High School diploma or GED required. •2+ years of customer service experience preferred. •Extended knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. •Multi-line phone system experience. •Multi-tasking, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving, computer literacy experience required. •Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, employees, members, and others. •Ability to work overtime, and on a rotating on-call basis for after hours and on weekends. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES •Respond to general member service inquiries related to member-consumer accounts, billing inquiries, payments, service availability, member complaints, outage reporting, and service order requests. •Process and update member service orders within the customer information system, including new member-consumer connects, transfers, disconnects, and trouble calls. •Process and remit billing payments from members. Prepare deposits for billing and ensure the balance of daily cash posting agrees with cash deposit totals. •Track and prepare member-consumer service activity reports, as needed. •Prepare letters, memorandums, and member-consumer service forms. •Work on special projects or cooperative programs, as needed. •Attend and participate in training programs and conferences for improvement of job knowledge, skill and safety. •Assist with the Annual Meeting in Orleans, Indiana. •Serve on-call as an after-hours dispatcher on a rotating basis.
