Start or Stop Service
Transfer or Reconnect Service
When moving to an existing residence or structure located with in the service jurisdiction of Orange County REMC, you will need to contact our office to schedule a day to have the electric service transferred or reconnected into your name. At that time we will need the following from you:

The address of the property or the meter number

A completed application for membership and electric service
-
Driver's License or another photo I.D.
-
$25 membership
-
Possible deposit (based on credit report)
By law we have three working days to complete a transfer request, but typically service can be connected the next business day. Emergency service restoration due to storms or natural disasters takes priority over new service connections.
Disconnect Service
The account holder will need to contact our office to request the disconnect. When you disconnect your service your membership fee and deposit, if applicable, will be refunded or applied to your final bill. Please be prepared to provide a forwarding address.
Connect a New Property
When connecting a new service at a new property, you will need to contact our office to schedule an appointment with an REMC staking engineer. At that time we will also need the following from you:

The address of the property or neighboring address

A completed application for membership and electric service

Driver's License or another photo I.D.

$25 membership

Possible deposit (based on credit report)

Applications
Please select the 'Member Application' if you are requesting electric and/or fiber service in our electric service area. Non-electric members who are requesting fiber, please select the 'Non-Member Application.'

You can drop your application off at our office or submit it by email to orangecoremc@myremc.coop. Please be sure to include two forms of ID if you choose to submit your application by email.
