Operation Round Up March 2023

Each month, members who wish to participate in Operation Round Up can have Orange County REMC automatically round their electric and/or fiber bills to the next highest dollar. The amount contributed by each member is less than a dollar a month and will average about $6.00 a year. Those extra few dollars from our members can have a large impact on groups and organizations making a big difference in our community. In the most recent meeting of the Operation Round Up board of trustees, six seniors and eleven local organizations received grants. Details of the funds awarded are listed below.

2023 Operation Round Up Scholarship Winners

Orange County REMC awards up to six $750.00 scholarships each year to recognize the academic and community achievements of outstanding local students. These scholarships are funded through the Operation Round Up program. Students who apply must be graduating the current year and accepted to attend an accredited college or trade school in Indiana. Listed below are the 2023 scholarship winners:

  • Braxton Sprouse - West Washington

  • Kye Strother - West Washington

  • Michaela McCabe - Orleans

  • Emily Qualkenbush - Orleans

  • Geneva Clark - Orleans

Other Recipients

  • Throop Elementary received $500.00 for the Mind in Motion program

  • Orleans High School After Prom received $250.00 for entertainment, games, and music

  • Campbellsburg Parks and Recreation received $500.00 to fund signage for little league parks

  • Orleans Public Library received $500.00 to fund the summer reading program

  • Orange County CASA received $1,600.00 for volunteer "Visit Kits"

  • Paoli Pals League received $321.00 to fund sound equipment

  • Boy Scout Troop 348 received $1,000.00 to help fund a camping trip

  • Springs Valley Football received $1,250.00 to help fund Guardian Caps

  • Paoli JAG Closet received $250.00 for clothing for students

  • Hoosier Hills PACT received $500.00 to help fund summer program

  • Phi Beta Psi - Theta Epsilon received $800.00 for food and supplies

If you are part of a school group, community organization, fire department, first responder group, 4-H club or other local non-profit and would like to apply for an Operation Round Up grant, go to and look under the “Community” menu to download an application and grant guidelines.
