Orange County REMC Announces Board of Director Election Candidates for 2025
Orange County REMC, a member-owned electric cooperative serving over 8,000 members in Orange and parts of Martin, Lawrence, Washington, and Crawford counties, is pleased to announce the candidates running for the Board of Director election at the upcoming Annual Meeting on June 6, 2025.
Randy Roberts- District 2, George Key-District 7, and Brett Busick- District 4, are the directors whose terms expire in 2025. The District 4 Board of Director candidates are Brett Busick and Thomas Lamb. Randy Roberts and George Key will run unopposed. All REMC members who attend the Annual Meeting can vote for the District 4 director.
Brett Busick

Representing REMC’s District 4 is Brett Busick. Busick is a lifelong resident of Orange County, a 1985 graduate of Orleans High School, and a two-year student at Indiana State University. He and his wife Lori reside on the west side of Orleans. They have three sons, Parker & Laine Busick, Patton & Weslie Busick, and Will Busick, and five grandchildren. Busick has been in the independent insurance industry for 35 years. He owned Busick Insurance Agency until 2022 and sold their business to Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency, where he and his wife still work. Brett and his son, Patton, own Busick Contracting, LLC. He is a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church, Orleans Lodge#153. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, and raising Angus cattle for freezer beef. Brett looks forward to interacting with Orange County REMC's members and employees.
Thomas Lamb

Thomas Lamb is lifelong resident of Orange County, with his wife Jennifer, have three sons: Ramsey, industrial mechanic at USG; Vincent, graduates in May 2025 from ISU Scott College of Business; and Garrett, with his wife Shelby, are expecting their first child in August. Thomas is Senior Vice President at Mid-Southern Savings Bank and brings 34 years of financial experience to his candidacy for REMC District 4 Director. Driven by a strong sense of responsibility to his community, Lamb currently serves in various leadership roles; Orleans Chamber of Commerce President, Orange County Economic Development Board, and Masonic Lodge #153 finance committee. Past services include Orange County Commissioner 12 years, leadership on various boards consists of Orange County Finance Committee, Orange County Solid Waste, Habitat for Humanity, Indiana Region 15, and Patoka Lake Regional Water. He is a member of Orleans Christian Church and is passionate about serving the community. He hopes to ensure the best interests of the REMC members and employees and humbly asks for your support in the 2025 Board of Directors election.
George Key

George Key has served as Orange County REMC Director representing District 7 since 2010. He earned his certification as a Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) in his first term in office. In January of 2023, he earned his Board Leadership Certification (BLC) from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). In November, 2023, he completed the program and received his Director Gold certification. He will continue his education taking classes every two years to keep his Director Gold certification current.
 Key is a lifelong resident of Orange County, has been a member of the cooperative since 1982, and is a graduate of Paoli Jr.-Sr. High School.
He and wife, Charlotte, a retired elementary school teacher, have two sons. John is a Gold certified Stihl technician employed with Wright Brothers in Corydon. His wife, Ashley is an RN. They have one daughter, Finley, who attends Throop Elementary School. Aaron is a high school algebra teacher at Paoli High School where he also coaches the boys' JV basketball team. His wife, Karson, is a first grade teacher at Throop Elementary School where their older daughter, Kamryn, attends. Their younger daughter, Adalyn, just turned three years old.Â
Ordained in 2005, Key has pastored Little Mission Church since August 2004. He has been a contracted school bus driver for Paoli Schools for 40 years. He, and his wife, mother and sons also run the family farm raising beef cattle, alfalfa hay, wheat, corn, and soybeans. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing. Key has been the Republican precinct committeeman for Southeast Township for over 20 years. He was also recently elected to serve on the Orange County Council.
Key, always interested in helping others, sees serving on the REMC Board of Directors as an opportunity to help and serve not only members in District 7, but all members across the REMC service territory.
Key, in his past 15 years serving as Director, has seen positive things happen and progress being made in moving the Cooperative forward for an even greater tomorrow and future. He has played an active role in helping to bring fiber to not only members of the co-op, but also to rural areas adjoined to the co-op service area. The Cooperative currently serves 12,787 fiber customers.
Since being elected to the Board of Directors, Key has seen the staff at REMC/Fiber more than double and nearly triple. He counts it as a blessing to work with the Board of Directors, General Manager, staff of both the electric and fiber parts of the co-op, and all the journey linemen and fiber technicians who keep our lights on, and our internet running. He hopes to have the opportunity to continue serving as District 7 Director.
Randy Roberts

Randy Roberts is the incumbent director for District 2. He has served on the board since 1989. Roberts makes it a high priority to stay informed of the needs of his district which includes REMC service territory in Washington and Crawford Counties.
Roberts lives north of Campbellsburg and is a lifetime resident of Washington County. He has three adult children — Landon (Lauren) Roberts, Adrienne (Cory) Baker, and Paige (Justin) Holsapple. Randy has six grandchildren. Roberts attended Purdue University, where he studied general agriculture and animal husbandry. He is part owner in a fifth-generation farming enterprise with his brother, Rick, and son, Landon. The business includes a commercial cow/calf herd, freezer beef, hay production, and a grain operation consisting of corn and soybeans.
Roberts is a member of the Washington County Cattlemen’s Association as well as the state and national organizations. He is also a member of the Brown Township Advisory Board, Cavetown Cemetery board and a Director at the Indiana Beef Evaluation Program. He is actively involved as a member of the Sugar Creek Christian Church. He enjoys spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events.
